We are often asked if we feature properties in the Umbria region so we are particularly pleased to offer Le Crete, a picturesque detached stone farmhouse which is only twenty miles from the Tuscan border and ideally placed for those who wish to tour in both Umbria and Tuscany.

This is a lovely rural location less than two miles from the delightful hilltop village of Ficulle and there are beautiful views to the hills and countryside in the area around. Le Crete takes its name from the clay rocks that are just opposite and which can be seen from the house.

Florence and Rome are both easy to reach by road or rail, both being about eighty miles away - the nearest train station is at Fabro less than seven miles away where you could leave your car whilst visiting either city for a fine day out. Don't miss visits to Todi, Lake Trasimeno and Perugia - each are about 30 miles away. Other places worth visiting are Lake Corbara and Chiusi, Lake Bolsena and Orvieto.

Le Crete is part of a farm estate of about fifteen acres covered with vineyards, olive groves, corn and sunflower fields.

It is delightfully furnished with many antique pieces, all of a high standard. The many personal touches, pictures on the walls, character beams and arches, together with dressed stone walls, add to the feeling of charm and character making it feel very homely. A beautiful garden surrounds the property from where there are views to the surrounding countryside. Swimming pool (10m x 5m).

As well as this being a delightful place for relaxing this is an excellent area for touring and visiting around the Tuscan and Umbrian regions. Tennis courts, supermarket, post office, bank, two restaurants and several local shops are all in Ficulle about two miles away.

LE CRETE

Built on a sloping site, Le Crete has three floors with the main accommodation on two of them. An entrance from the garden leads into a fine living room with fireplace (TV with satellite). An archway leads through to the dining area and then through another arch into the little study/studio with desk and telephone. Picturesque well-equipped fitted dining kitchen (double sink, dishwasher, hob and oven, wood stove, fridge/freezer) leads out onto the spacious covered terrace which takes up the whole side of the building. Very good bathroom with shower, basin, bidet and wc.

A wide staircase from the sitting room gives access to the bedrooms on the upper floor. One double room en-suite (bath, basin, bidet and wc). One further double, one twin and a smaller room for children with bunk beds. House bathroom has bath, basin, bidet and wc.

On the lower ground floor you will find utility rooms, a laundry with a washing machine, additional freezer and a useful extra bathroom with shower, basin and wc.

Furnishings throughout are comfortable and the property has beamed ceilings and terracotta floors with feature archways. This is a rare opportunity to stay in a family home in a delightful area.

Maid service and a cook are available on request at an extra charge. This should be arranged in advance.
