Property Location

La Fornace is another of our properties on the wine producing estate of Fattoria Badia di Morrona (see also La Sughera here>> and Sant' Angiola here>> ). It is a recently restored old farmhouse that has been divided into two first floor apartments just 100m below Sant' Angiola and close to the minor road that leads to the village of Chianni. It is surrounded by large grassy garden areas and some trees. Although the house is set in the valley there are good views to the opposite hills of Casciana Terme.

This is a pretty area, offering you a real taste of Tuscan living, not too touristy, but within easy striking distance of all the main sights of Tuscany. Volterra, Lucca, Pisa and the coast are easily accessible whilst fine days out can be enjoyed in Florence, Siena and San Gimignano. With several good restaurants in the area you will have plenty of opportunities to sample the local fare and there is good shopping and a weekly market in Ponsacco which is close by.

Outside: The large covered terrace on the ground floor may be used by tenants of both properties. Salt swimming pool. Large barbecue in garden for shared use.

Notes: This area is good for walking - in the hills above Chianni you will find marked trails in the forest and horse riding, tennis and bike hire are all available nearby. Also please note that Wi-Fi internet access is available at La Fornace.

The house is divided as follows: There is a large dining room and kitchen on the ground floor which are used during the hunting season, which runs from mid-September onwards by the hunters to prepare meals. Large covered terrace for shared use to the front of the dining room. There is also a bedroom and a bathroom which could be let together with one of the two upstairs properties - please enquire at the time of booking.

The whole house, LA FORNACE Property Ref. 682, can be rented to accommodate 12+2, together with a ground floor double en-suite room, which has its own spacious kitchen and sitting room with sofa bed.

The accommodation is all on the first floor. An external staircase leads up to a small terrace with entrance into large dining room. An archway leads from the dining room to the sitting room with sofas, satellite TV and Tuscan fireplace. Spacious breakfast kitchen with fridge/freezer, gas hob, electric oven and dishwasher. There are three bedrooms, one double en-suite and two twin rooms, one of which is en-suite. There is a third bathroom next to the second twin room. All the bathrooms have shower, basin, bidet and wc (third bathroom also has a bath). Terracotta floors and beamed ceilings throughout. Central heating. Cot available on request. Laundry facilities on site. Garden area for eating out of doors with table and chairs provided.
