Property Location

We found this delightful farm estate set well back from a country road only eight miles to the south east of Florence in the Chianti Hills. It will make an ideal location for those wanting to stay near Florence in beautiful rural surroundings whilst making the most of the galleries and museums of Tuscany's greatest city. The estate extends to over 300 hectares covered by vineyards, olive groves, and woodland and the owners produce their own Chianti and olive oil which can be purchased during your stay.

The estate is made up of eight properties, of which we have six to let. There is a large Tuscan farmhouse built around 1700 which is divided into four individual properties, all furnished in traditional rustic style with beamed ceilings and terracotta floors and two separate detached converted barns.

At the back of the property there are grassy garden areas with trees and a 'kiddies' playground. Each property has its own sitting out area with garden furniture. A stroll from the farmhouse is the swimming pool (8m x 9m) and there are good views across the surrounding hillsides.

The owners live nearby in an imposing villa with a fine tower which dates from the 12th century. In 1700 the tower was added to and became one of the most sumptuous residences in Tuscany - it is surrounded by attractive gardens and a lovely park where guests may walk. Also in the grounds, about a hundred yards from the farmhouse, there are two small lakes. There are plenty of footpaths around the estate where you can go walking. The estate offers a free wine tasting (with bruschetta) and tour of the impressive winery. There is also the option to book lunch afterwards which costs approximately 18 Euros per person.

Notes: There is a restaurant and tennis court about ¾ mile away and horse riding can be arranged locally. Mountain bikes are available to hire. Basic shopping in San Donato ¾ mile. Supermarkets in Rignano or Antella about 4 miles away. The fine golf course of Ugolino is about 8 miles. There are two other properties on the estate which share the swimming pool. (Guests are welcome to arrive 3-6pm and depart by 9.30am.)

PICCOLO

A lovely spacious ground floor apartment. Sitting/dining room with TV, sofa bed for the additional person. Small kitchen with gas cooker, oven, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. One good double bedroom. Bathroom has shower, basin and wc. Central heating. Cot available on request.

PICCIONAIA
Property Ref. 371 - Sleeps 6

This charming property has its entrance at first floor level into a pretty sitting room from where there are good views across the countryside. A galleried twin bedroom in the tower is reached via a stone staircase whilst there are two other bedrooms (a second twin and a double) on the first floor. Large dining/kitchen has gas oven and hob, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Two bathrooms both with shower, basin, bidet and wc. Washing machine. Central heating. Cot available on request.

CAMINO
Property Ref. 372 - Sleeps 4

Next to Piccionaia, this first floor property has an airy feel with windows on two sides from where you have good views. Sitting room has two sofas, TV and a large Tuscan fireplace. Two bedrooms - one double and one twin. Kitchen with gas oven, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Bathroom equipped with shower, basin, bidet and wc. Central heating. Cot available on request.

GIARDINO
Property Ref. 373 - Sleeps 4

A charming ground floor apartment with its own grassy garden. The main entrance leads from the garden into the large open sitting/dining room. Archway to kitchen (equipped as in other properties). Two bedrooms, one double and one twin with a door to the garden, and two bathrooms both with shower, basin, bidet and wc. Central heating. Cot available on request.

FIENILE FONTE LECCETA
Property Ref. 374 - Sleeps 2+2

This lovely detached converted barn sits on the sunny hillside above the owners' villa, appox. 200 metres from the shared swimming pool. It was restored to keep all its rustic character and has beautiful beamed ceilings and terracotta floors throughout.

The accommodation is on two floors. On the ground floor there is a pretty double bedroom with inbuilt wardrobe and a bathroom with shower, basin, bidet and wc. On the first floor there is a sitting room with double sofa bed, TV and air-conditioning. Small kitchen with fridge/freezer, hob, oven, dishwasher and washing machine.

Private garden with garden furniture and barbecue. Views from the windows and the garden. Central heating. Cot available on request.

FIENILE CASA VILLA
Property Ref. 375 - Sleeps 4+2

This most picturesque detached converted barn is close to the largest farmhouse. It was restored with much attention to detail. There are beautiful beamed ceilings and terracotta floors throughout and the whole property is tastefully furnished in rustic style.

The accommodation is on two floors. On the ground floor there is a spacious sitting/dining room with double sofa bed and TV. An archway leads through to an open kitchen with fridge/freezer, hob with four gas rings, combined microwave and dishwasher. Pretty double room and two bathrooms both with shower, basin, bidet and wc. Storeroom with a washing machine. On the first floor there is a twin bedded room. Air-conditioning throughout.

Outside there is a private garden with barbecue and parking. Central heating. Cot available on request. Shared pool as above.

CASA VILLA
Property Ref. 376 - Sleeps 16+1

Piccolo (Ref. 370), Piccionaia (Ref. 371), Camino (Ref. 372) and Giardino (Ref. 373) can all be booked together to sleep up to 17 people.

These prices are inclusive of linen, towels, power, heating, welcome pack and final clean. Maid service on request 18 Euros per hour. Security deposit 250 Euros taken on arrival. Mountain bikes available to hire. Swimming pool open 30/4 until 30/9 (subject to weather conditions). Wireless internet access costs 5 Euros daily, 20 Euros weekly.

 

Additional Information At all properties towels are included with the linen. Please ask for the prices for Christmas if not stated. The Security deposit may be paid in the Sterling equivalent. Changeovers - bookings are from Saturday to Saturday unless otherwise stated (in low season changeover days can be more flexible - please ask). Arrivals are between 4pm and 7pm. Departure is by 10am. All properties are cleaned after your departure, but we do ask clients to leave their accommodation as they found it.
