This old Tuscan farmhouse has been completely renovated and is well cared for by its charming owners. It is situated in lovely rural surroundings near to Castelfiorentino on a large private estate amid gently rolling hills with an abundance of orchards, sunflowers and vineyards, corn growing and olive groves.

This lovely old farmhouse has been carefully divided into six individual properties each finished to a good standard in typical Tuscan style making much use of terracotta and other natural finishes, all with beamed ceilings,open fires and fly screens at the windows. Of the six, Mimosa and Ginestra are on the first floor and Primula is on the second floor with shared external entrance and staircase. The other three, Margherita, Lavanda and Biancospino have their own entrances. Whilst the owners have retained a great deal of the traditional rustic style they have good modern kitchens and a laundry area is also available.

There is a large swimming pool (13m x 7m) with poolside furniture and a large garden area adjacent to the farmhouse for the private use of tenants. The owners have also planted a selection of fruit trees around the grounds which guests may pick without charge. There is also a floodlit tennis court where you can work off the calories! There is a playground and bowling green which you also have use of.

On two evenings per week the owner will usually prepare typical Tuscan food for you, at very reasonable prices, which she serves in the small private restaurant attached to the farmhouse.

This service is sometimes dependent on the number of guests wishing to eat there and we cannot guarantee that it will always be available. Estate wine is available at good prices. Colour TV with satellite in the restaurant.

Each property has ceiling fans in each bedroom and has its own space out of doors with garden furniture and barbecue. There is also a telephone for outgoing and incoming calls. Our clients who have used these properties have been very happy with the excellent all-round quality of this delightful holiday venue.

Castelfiorentino is a busy local town - not a tourist spot, which is very useful for shopping etc.. There are several good restaurants in the area if you wish to eat out. Places to visit are many including San Gimignano which is a short drive away, and Volterra, a bit further. Golf in Castelfalfi 20 minutes drive approx.

A day out in Siena is not to be missed - it takes about one hour by car and there is also a good train service from Castelfiorentino. Florence is easy to get to either by road or train (allow 45 mins by car).

A day out at the coast is possible - about 1 hr 15mins drive gets you to the Livorno area where there are good beaches. Viareggio is a large resort north of Pisa, also about 1 hr 25mins drive from Girasole, and there are smaller coastal resorts to the south of Livorno.

The owners of Girasole have asked us to mention that they also accept pets.

BIANCOSPINO
Property Ref. 300 - Sleeps 5+2

Approached via its own stone staircase (which has a stairlift for the disabled) on the garden side of the farmhouse the accommodation is all on the first floor. There is an open plan room with lounge (TV) and dining areas and fitted kitchen with gas cooker, oven and fridge. There is a large fireplace. The lounge also has a double sofa bed. There is one double bedroom, with a single bed available and another double room. Two bathrooms with shower, basin and wc (one is equipped for disabled use).

LAVANDA
Property Ref. 301 - Sleeps 4+2

This charming cottage style property has two entrances, a main entrance at the front and a second leading out to the garden at the back. There is a very large open room on the ground floor with lounge (TV) and dining areas and a fitted kitchen with gas cooker, oven and fridge. There is also an open fireplace. The lounge has a double divan bed. A wooden staircase leads up out of this room to two bedrooms - a twin bedded room and a double bedded room. Bathroom with shower, basin and wc.

GINESTRA
Property Ref. 302 - Sleeps 4+2

The accommodation in this apartment is all on the first floor. Fine open plan living/dining room with large open fireplace (TV), fitted kitchen area (gas cooker, oven and fridge). Two bedrooms (one double, one twin) and bathroom with shower, basin and wc. There is a a sofa bed in the sitting room.

PRIMULA
Property Ref. 303 - Sleeps 2+2

This pretty apartment is on the second floor offering well planned accommodation with views across the surrounding countryside. The sitting room has open fire and sofa bed (TV). Open plan newly fitted kitchenette (gas cooker, oven and fridge). One double bedroom. Bathroom with shower, basin and wc.

MARGHERITA
Property Ref. 304 - Sleeps 2+2

A pleasant ground floor apartment with its own outside terrace area. Large sitting room/kitchen (double sofa bed, fireplace and TV), gas cooker/hob and fridge. One double bedded room reached via a short staircase and a shower room (shower, basin, wc).

MIMOSA

First floor property sharing stairs with Ginestra and Primula. Entrance door leading into lovely sitting/dining room with fireplace (TV) and very good fitted kitchen with fridge/freezer, hob and oven. Very spacious double bedroom with good views to the pool and to the garden. Triple bed room on the front of the house. Bathroom with shower, bidet, basin and wc.
