I Colli is a splendid, restored farmhouse divided into two properties. It is set on a sunny hillside just over a mile from the centre of the lovely hilltop village of Montaione and has fine views to the surrounding countryside. On clear days you can see San Miniato with its famous tower of Fredrico II and the Apennine Mountains in the distance. The twelve acre farm estate has vineyards and olive groves and you are very welcome to buy both wine and olive oil from the owners. There is also an orchard and a kitchen garden. The farmhouse is set peacefully about three hundred yards from the road to Montaione and there are country walks from the door.

At I Colli you are well placed for visits to all the major sights of Tuscany - Montaione is so centrally placed midway between San Gimignano, Certaldo and Volterra and with Florence, Pisa and Siena all accessible by car or by train - the nearest station is at Castelfiorentino. There is good shopping in Montaione and a supermarket at Castelfiorentino. Montaione offers a number of places to eat and the whole area is well served with restaurants serving typical Tuscan food. Golf course at Castelfalfi - 10 minutes drive.

Both properties are tastefully furnished with many antique pieces and have modern country style kitchens and very good bathrooms. There are terracotta floors and beamed ceilings throughout and the walls are painted in soft pastel colours. The houses are newly prepared for letting with a good feeling of quality. Central heating available if required. A cot can be supplied on request.

The two properties can be let separately but would work equally well if taken together by a larger party wanting a private pool.

Both properties share use of the delightful swimming pool (12m x 6m) just a short stroll from the farmhouse and from where there are fine views - the circular end of the pool has a bench where you can enjoy hydromassage. A childrens’ swing and seesaw are also provided. There are two good barbecues to the rear and both properties have their own covered terraces for eating out of doors. Garden furniture is provided. Each property has private access to its own garden areas. An electric gate leads to covered parking plus an underground garage and a laundry for shared use.

Notes: We love the area around Montaione and you will certainly find yourselves well placed for touring or relaxing amid delightful surroundings. These properties are equally well suited to separate use or for those larger families or two families who wish to stay together and have use of a private pool.

Entrance from the terrace into the living room (fireplace, satellite TV, and two comfortable chairs which convert to single sofa beds). Very good bathroom (shower, basin, bidet and wc). An archway from the sitting room leads through to the spacious dining/kitchen with its stone sink, gas hob, electric cooker and dishwasher. Door to back garden and terrace. A small hallway off the kitchen gives access down to the garage and shared laundry area.

A stone staircase from the kitchen leads to the bedrooms upstairs - a nice double room with view to the garden, connects to the separate dressing room. Next to this bedroom is a good bathroom (shower, basin, bidet and wc). Second very large en-suite double bedroom has an antique bed and two windows overlooking the garden (shower, basin, bidet and wc).

I COLLI 2
Property Ref. 482 - Sleeps 6+2

You enter the property from your own covered terrace into the sitting room which has a double sofa bed (satellite TV). Good bathroom with shower, basin, bidet and wc. A door from the sitting area leads to a small hallway from where stairs go down to the garage and shared laundry area. Open plan sitting room and spacious dining/kitchen with fireplace and from where you have access to the outside terrace and also to the garden and barbecue. Well-equipped kitchen has stone sink, big fridge/freezer, hob with five gas rings, electric oven and dishwasher.

Stairs lead from the sitting area to the first floor where there are three bedrooms - a good twin with views to the back garden (the beds can be arranged together to form a double), second bedroom is a small but very plesant double with views down to the pool and towards S. Miniato. Master en-suite double room has beautiful views from two windows. There are two upstairs bathrooms both with shower, basin, bidet and wc.

These prices are inclusive of linen, towels, power, welcome pack and final clean. Heating, if used, is by meter reading. Security deposit 200 Euros taken on arrival.

 

Additional Information At all properties towels are included with the linen. Please ask for the prices for Christmas if not stated. The Security deposit may be paid in the Sterling equivalent. Changeovers - bookings are from Saturday to Saturday unless otherwise stated (in low season changeover days can be more flexible - please ask). Arrivals are between 4pm and 7pm. Departure is by 10am. All properties are cleaned after your departure, but we do ask clients to leave their accommodation as they found it.
